I was really torn today, because Anita's photo immediately made me think of this shot of my nephew which I took last year at Black Rock Sands. I love this photo. It was the only really sunny day of our holiday.... and you can see the rain clouds just rolling right on in to put an end to it!

I also wanted to take a photo today as its the first time I've had chance for over a week. So this is the "string" that's actually in my space today (as opposed to the one above which was in my space briefly last year ;)). One of Gracie's (many) sets of plastic beads..... they seem to get everywhere in this house!

Is it really sad that I spent 15 minutes running around my house taking photos of things that dangle? Bizarre behaviour by any stretch of the imagination. LOL.

Here's the chain on my back door. That's the best dangly thing in my house today, well, there was the wind chime one, but someone else beat me to it on that front! ;)

A bit of a cheat today as this photo was taken quite a while ago. It's my DD at a local park which has a walled garden - funnily enough, there aren't many other people around on a wet and windy day in March, which makes for some great photo ops :)

This is one of the first photos taken with my new camera. The kids were driving us nuts between Christmas and New Year so we decided on a family day out to break the cabin fever and ended up at the zoo (mostly in the rain, but it hadn't started at this point (the elephants are the first enclosure! LOL)).

Silly old me, didn't realise that the Her Space:My Space blog was back in post-Christmas business (until I read Rach's blog last night, but it was too late to get to the "white" prompt by then). So, I'm beginning today, with "perfume".

I have three perfumes that I used on a regular basis (which one I wear depends on my mood). Today, the newest one in the collection won out - a fab gift from my ILs from their Caribbean cruise (lucky things!)).

I'm hoping to get as many HS:MS photos done this years as I can, but it might be a stretch on the days I'm on work, so I will just go with the flow I think.

Oh my, I haven't posted a photo on here since JUNE!! How bad am I?

Okay so it probably coincides with the time I started back to work, which did somewhat hamper my HS:MS photo taking time. Then I kind of got out of the habit, and life just plain got in the way.

So, anyway, after checking out Rach's blog (who's been a busy scrapping, HS:MS phototaking bee lately) I've been inspired to pull my finger out and take a pic for today's prompt: Puddle.

Technically, this is more like an impromtu pond than a puddle. Where DH built the new steps in the garden there's a space that's not level and is inclosed with a ring of brick..... so it of course catches and holds all the rain (of which there's been plenty lately). I'm just waiting for the wild life to start moving in, we already have the algae, shouldn't long before the rest follows suit (well, the ones with woolly coats and hats anyway - baby, it's COLD outside! ;)).

I'm a little late with this one today. Sunday is the day for visiting the ILs, so I got home this afternoon to discover there are NO berries in our house, or on the trees in the garden, or in my parents garden (which is next door) or indeed in the garden's of the houses in my street (well, none that I could get away with photographing without risking the neighbours calling the police).

So, with that in mind, this is the best I could do:

Strangely enough, I knew exactly where to find a shell in my space today - in the coin comparment in the front of my car where there's been three of them lurking since our trip to the beach (about two months ago). I picked them up with the intention of using them on a scrapbook layout about the day - but they have yet to make it into the house.

I suspect this speaks volumes about the level of mess in my car! LOL.

As there are no actual boats in my space today (at least none that I could see) I had to dredge up the childhood memory of how to make these...

and then find somewhere to float it, which to be honest, on a rainy day like today wasn't difficult!

The biggest challenge was convincing Grace that she couldn't have the boat until I'd finished with it...oh, and trying not to get the camera wet in the rain!

Two photos from me for this one today (but hey, when you have two kids, you can't do one without the other ;)).

The first is my daughter (Grace) a few weeks ago. She never naps in the day time but she was unwell when she came home from play school and curled up on the sofa with a blanket and drifted off.

The second is my son (Ewan) at about 1 month old. Just managed to catch him mid-yawn. Looking at this always makes me yawn myself!

Today's prompt was a self portrait. I was going to cheat and use my profile one (as it's probably the only photo of me that I like these days) but I thought I'd better be brave and take a couple today instead (now I'm really glad that I decided to go on a health kick starting today. I still have a lot of baby weight to shift!).

This is probably not the best shot in the world but I've chosen it for three reasons:

1) I'm smiling with my mouth open for once (usually I don't because I hate my overbite LOL) but it looks okay here for a change.

2) I kind of like the soft focus look that the flash flare gives (makes me look less pasty :) )

3) The state of the dust spots on the mirror has served to remind me that I really should be doing some housework instead of blogging *SIGH*

This is a bit of photography fun that Rach pointed me in the direction of (thanks Rach :)). Basically, it's one word prompts to inspire you to take photos of everyday items. The blog is called Her Space: My Space.

Yesterday's prompt was "Nugget" so here's my photo:

It's a piece of blue play doh - which is quite apt as we have bucket loads of that around here - and it's currently entertaining Gracie for a while before school.
Now I'm under instructions to go and make something that resembles a cat out of that nugget! LOL.
